The VLA Story

To the heights!

Reece has always felt drawn to the mountains. Growing up, he was an avid hiker with his Boy Scout troop and has summited Mount Rainer and Mount Hood. Recently, he learned of the story of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, who is well known for his love of hiking as well as his care for those around him. On his last hike prior to his death in 1925, the 24-year old wrote Verso l’alto on the back of a photograph a friend had taken of him. Literally, “Verso l’alto” means “toward the top”; however, many have translated the saying to be “To the heights.”

Reece is constantly striving to the heights, quite literally in his work in roofing, and also in his commitment to being the best version of himself. When deciding on a name for his business, finding a way to incorporate Verso l’alto (VLA) just felt right.
